Balancing Mind and Body
2 x Therapeutic sound baths on the 1st Sunday of the month, at 10am and 11am
Start your Sunday by immersing yourself in the magic of sound. Allow the healing vibrations of the gongs, Himalayan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, drum, flute, chimes and other instruments to sooth, rebalance and re-energise you for the rest of the day and week. Please book in advance - limited spaces available.
Sound therapist, Marisa Tighe of Hema Sounds, trained with the internationally renowned Sound Healing Academy in 2019, using sound with visualisation and positive thinking to alleviate anxiety, increase creativity, empower self-healing and raise self-esteem. It is not a talking therapy - you can talk or not talk. Many of her clients are managing significant life changes and uncertainty such as Covid, retirement, Parkinson’s, late pregnancy and cancer, and also people coping with the stresses of growing up, leadership roles, stressful jobs, and parenting. As well as running groups, Marisa also offers bespoke individual sound healing sessions in her studio in Malling, Lewes - open to all ages.
What some people have said after the sound baths:
‘It’s like a massage from the inside out’
‘Meditation without the effort of learning how to do it’’
‘A surreal experience’
‘That was amazing’
Allowing yourself this time out immersed in sound, can help:
· bring clarity of mind and reset priorities by tapping into your own inner voice
· relax your mind and body into the optimal state for self-healing
· improve quality of sleep
· lower blood pressure
· release physical and emotional tension
· slow down the production of stress hormones
· reset and nourish the central nervous system
· to connect with what is going on in your body and emotions at a deep level
· to take you into a meditative state without ‘doing’ anything but lie there
· open you up to allow your creativity to flow
Marisa has lived in Lewes for 18 years and recently left a long and interesting career as a special educational needs advisory teacher/trainer working mostly in Inner London and Sussex. She worked in a wide variety of settings (schools, courts, residential rehabilitation, charities, business..) particularly with those who find it challenging to communicate verbally. Working with children showed the transformational impact of using mindfulness, meditation and sound on their ability to think abstractly and express themselves. This led to wanting to work more flexibly and holistically than the present education system and funding allowed. After becoming ‘burnt out’ through her own wellbeing practises, Marisa was fortunate to discover sound baths and sound healing and felt compelled to share it with others: ‘I now have a fascinating job, working with sound, intuition and science that balances and energises both myself and others.’
